In Vidyavihar East after you reach RN Gandhi high school the road to the right leads to D Colony , Chittranjan nagar, ONGC Colony, Shastri Nagar, and the Bhim nagar slum that extends along the water pipeline right upto the point where the Large drain intersects the Water pipeline.

The Shopslocated on this road are

  • Shivam dry fruits store

  • Laxmi hair dressers
  • Dispensary

On the Pipeline side there is

  • A beauty parlor
  • Ladies tailor
  • Guide Electricals
  • Rajesh grain store
  • Sand supplier
  • A Dairy Shop
  • A few more general and provision shops are located here

The reason for all these shops is the population residing in bhim nagar ( the slum adjoining the pipeline).Shastri nagar is beyond ongc colony and has a few shops inside it. mostly all these shops cater to the local emergency needs and the main shopping is still done at rajawadi.

The D Colony consists mainly of bungalows and hence the population in this area is more in the slums. the few multi storied apartments in this area are , Yashoda Niwas (a very old building), Neeta appartments , Rajshrri Vihar building and mathur house, ( bungalow converted to an apartment style building).

Vidyavihar gets its name from the somaiya college established in mid sixties and the major traffic on this road is students of somaiya college ( on the east side of the station).

The railway owns a substantial amount of land and there is also a railway quarters located here. in the mid seventiies a series of shops were built on this road, leading up to RN Gandhi high school.

  • Pest control Services Provider
  • Science Tutorials
  • Laxmi Stores ( Run by a handicapped lady)
  • Gupta Electronics ( a repair shop for Electronic Items)
  • Soni Snap ( originally a photographer , now an electronics Repair shop)
  • Restaurant for fast food
  • Evergreen hair cutting saloon
  • Zerox shop
  • Haresh Watch Repairer
  • Poshak Tailors
  • Ganesh Tailors
  • A1 Wafers and snacks factory ( very good banana wafers)
  • Tyre Repair Shop
  • Book stall
  • Grill and Iron Welding workshop
  • Hardware Shop
There are many PCO in this line and

There are also a few offices on the same line that offer services. however as these are not open to general public.

These are some of the shops located on the road. This Road also has a lot of hoardings and billboards mostly displaying ads of tutorials and classes (Remember Somaiya college?)

There is the fatima high school located in the west and many students that reside in the east use this road to get to the school.

There is an entrance to a large slum located on the right side just after the railway compound this is also a shortcut to reach the housing colony at vidyavihar. the large open drain has a bridge that allows you to crossover to the residential area.

The walkway through the slums is pretty neat and apart from the fact that there is cooking going on on the road, there is little resemblance to a slum.
